God Flex: Self-Talk

You are what you eat, how you speak to yourself has alot to do with what you ingest. Your IG/FB timeline, Music, TV, and even through relationships you carry in real life. When situations show up in your life and you need to be refilled, what's the method to YOUR madness? Mine's is the God Flex. Music & Writing is my mediation most of the time, outside of sitting still for 20 mins a day. I often match my playlist to my desired mood/outcome vs the mood I am currently in. Don't get me wrong my playlist ranges from DMX to Lecrae but truth be told these are both Gospel artist, IMO. Storytelling through music that is uplifting is my definition of Gospel aka Gods Spell, what type of spells are you putting on yourself when you are ingesting things through your eyes and ears that are not good for you, that leave you feeling down or even worse, angry!?

How often do we forget that we have the free will to control our mood, even when life is lifing and our environment is less than favorable it's the self-talk that pulls you through to the other side. Self talk meaning the dialogue you have with yourself in your mind or even out loud depending on the day (insert smile). It’s how you give yourself instructions, carry out your day to day task and it dictates your interpretation your environment.


Your heart posture has to be straight and open to hear God's voice through any situation; that's your amour, your sword and your helmet. How can you train your mind to get triggered into prayer and not doubt? My suggestion is to learn to practice mindfulness, this is the practice that allowed me to observe my thoughts and the way I prayed. Mindfulness is also how you can identify your intake or what is or is not healthy for you. Being the observer of self allows you to be accountable for your feelings and check yourself as you witness your actions.


Lessons Learned AKA God Flex: The change comes with acceptance to all the ways you used to give your power away through negative self talk and through exposing yourself to lower vibed energy. Once you can recognize it be intentional and find ways to create change based on the actions you take throughout your day. Those steps are easier said than done and this process has to start internally before you can see a change externally. Taking into account that your subconscious mind is fueled by your intake auditory, visual etc. Shifting your energy from the chaos around you and choosing to redirect your mood.

  • Catch It when you find yourself hearing or watching things that keep you in a lower vibration. Even if it's you speaking to yourself in the wrong tone, be accoutable when you catch it.

  • Check In with yourself to observe your mood and the impact of your daily environment. Take note to when your environment is causing a impact on your mood. Neagtive or positive, take note of how you feel often.

  • Change It get grounded with action. Pray/meditate and be intention with your actions throughout your day. Your mind is a tricky place so make the cat and mouse game of catching your thoughts fun. Its not about chastising yourself, it’s a game of improvement.
